ETH Zurich is the study, research and work place of 18,000 people from 80 nations. About 350 professors in 16 departments teach engineering sciences and architecture, system-oriented sciences, mathematics and natural sciences areas and carry out highly valued research. Twenty-one Nobel Laureates are connected with ETH Zurich. Maintaining and developing its top standing among top universities is an important task of ETH Zurich.
The Autonomous System Laboratory is leader of WP4 and will define and develop control strategies for automating the flight of a single PAV for automatic take-off, navigation and landing. Our field expertise in autonomous micro helicopters and navigation technology will be a valuable asset. The Autonomous System Laboratory expertise relevant to the myCopter project is the lab’s robot design experience and especially the large competence in simultaneous localisation and mapping (SLAM), hybrid and hierarchical representation of environments and navigation in dynamic environments.
